Myths of the Business

I’m going to shut down all the negative myths you’ve heard about running a Multi Level Marketing Business. Pull your pants up friends, it’s about to get real.

Alrighttt, I get it. I was there too. Before I really dove into this business I was really hesitant about trying to make anything of it. I’ve had some really sketchy experiences with MLM’s before, so I didn’t want to put myself in that category.

I didn’t even know there was a business side to Young Living until about 2 years after I grabbed my kit. If that doesn’t say something about how not “pushy” YL biz people are, I don’t know what does. So let’s get down to some of the things you’ve heard about us being an MLM and squash those rumors, shall we?

I’m not a Sales Person so I don’t think I can do the business

That’s actually a GOOD thing that you’re not a salesperson. I think of a salesperson as those people who run kiosks in the mall and basically harass you while walking by. Or someone super random cold messaging you online asking to buy or promote their weight loss/romance/makeup/whatever products. How did that make you feel? Yeah, it leaves me feeling gross too.

I didn’t get to be an Executive leader by being salesy, and you won’t either. You share how you use your products, share your story and how they’ve made an impact in your life, and that’s it. That’s all I did. You guide people in the right direction, and you help them get what they need. That doesn’t qualify as a salesperson in my opinion.

I have to spend THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS to be successful

This is soooooo false. So So So not true. In order to qualify for commission, you need to spend 50PV (which normally adds up to $50) a month to get a paycheck. If you want all the crazy bonuses added onto your check, you need 100PV on Essential Rewards (which again normally adds up to around $100). The difference between Young Living and other MLMs is that YOU are using these products for your personal use. You are buying the things that your family uses and benefits from and sharing about it. There is not one single product that I’ve bought that we haven’t used in our house. If I don’t think I’ll use it, I don’t buy it. No inventory, no quota to sell, nothing.

I need a huge following on social media or I won’t grow

Again, 100% not true. You have friends, you have family, you have neighbors, you have coworkers that you see IN PERSON every single day. If you’re using your oils (and not trying to sell them) around these people, they’re going to have some questions. All of my signups have been personal friends and/or family, and not my “following” on instagram. You know why? Because people don’t just hop online and buy things from strangers. People want a connection and those who personally surround you have your trust.

Since we talked about earning a paycheck, I gotta leave this link here for you. Check out the Income Disclosure Statement and see what we’re all making each month.
